Fried MuEnster

Ingredients

  • 1-2 (7 oz) New Bridge Muenster

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 4 whole eggs, whisked

  • 1 cup all-purpose Flour

  • 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp white pepper

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp Spanish paprika

  • 1 jar tomato sauce

  • 1/4 cup parsley, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, white pepper, kosher salt, and smoked paprika. Set aside.

  2. In another bowl, add whisked eggs. Set aside.

  3. Cut New Bridge Muenster into 2 oz blocks.

  4. Set up a breading line: coat cheese in flour mixture, dip in egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.

  5. Freeze cheese blocks for 2 hours to set.

  6. Simmer tomato sauce and keep warm.

  7. Fry muenster squares until golden brown and soft but not melted.

  8. Serve over a layer of tomato sauce, garnished with parsley and Parmesan cheese.
